After serving on the Roeland Park Planning Commission for several years there was an opportunity to run for the Ward 4 Councilmember seat and I decided to go for it! Ended up running unopposed (the best way to do it if you can swing it!) and was sworn in in at the end of December.

I think it is important to be involved in your city in whatever way you can. It could be serving on a committee, volunteering for events or even just attending some City Council meetings and making your voice heard.

It is early in my term but I am really enjoying it and learning a lot. It is interesting to see things from the other side of the table and I look forward to finding out what I can bring to the council and how the things I learn can benefit RDM.
